Social Media/Video Internship Job Description: 

This is an unpaid internship with the potential for a permanent position in the future. 

GSMC Podcast Network is seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students for an exciting Social Media/Video Internship. This position offers hands-on experience in the evolving world of digital media, particularly within the podcasting industry. Interns will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects, develop new skills, and network with professionals. 

The Social Media/Video Intern will play a key role in transforming our extensive library of audio podcasts into engaging video content for platforms like YouTube. Additionally, interns will use artificial intelligence tools to create blog articles from podcast transcripts, expanding our digital presence across social media and beyond. 

Social Media/Video Intern Job Duties: 

• Daily Production Meetings: Attend daily production meetings at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern Time with Production Manager, Podcast Show Hosts and the Social Media Team to discuss the top show topics of the day and align content strategies. 

• Video Content Creation: Convert existing audio podcasts into video podcasts, incorporating visuals, graphics, and other enhancements for YouTube and other video platforms. 

• AI-Driven Content Creation: Utilize AI tools to generate blog articles from video transcripts, ensuring the content is engaging and optimized for SEO. 

• Social Media Management: Manage GSMC’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other relevant platforms, ensuring content is consistent and brand-focused. 

• Content Development: Develop and execute social media campaigns, creating dynamic written, graphic, and video content that drives audience engagement. 

• Analytics and Reporting: Analyze audience demographics, track the success of social media initiatives, and report findings to help optimize content strategies. 

• Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the marketing team to coordinate social media strategies with broader marketing efforts, including ad campaigns. 

• Emerging Platforms: Stay informed about new and emerging social media platforms, exploring ways to enhance GSMC’s digital presence. 

Social Media/Video Intern Skills and Qualifications: 

• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Canva is a plus. 

• AI Tools: Familiarity with AI content creation tools or a willingness to learn. 

• Educational Background: Marketing, Communications, Media, or related fields preferred. 

• Creativity: Strong creative skills in content creation, graphic design, and video production. 

• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute innovative ideas. 

• Self-Motivation: A proactive attitude with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. 

• Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading skills and an eye for detail.
