Our Miss Brooks was a radio sitcom that first aired on CBS Radio on 19 July 1948. It tells the story of an English teacher, Connie Brooks, which was portrayed by the American actress Eve Arden. It was such a hit among many listeners during its run that it received several awards including Arden winning the Radio Mirror magazine’s poll for the best radio comedienne of the year for the years of 1948 and 1949. Other actors and actresses included in the show were Gale Gordon, Don Porter, Robert Rockwell, Jane Morgan, and many more. The Our Miss Brooks radio show’s last episode was aired on 1957. A year before the radio series ended, it had a television, stage play, and film adaptations of the same title. Eve Arden was even offered to teach English in different High Schools.
