10-2-4 Ranch was a western musical variety show from the 1930s and 1940s, in 15 minute episodes, used to promote Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper claimed that sugar gave energy to people. The reasoning was since Dr. Pepper had sugar that it could be used as a meal between means to give the drinker an energy boost. The name 10-2-4 Ranch was to remind listeners to drink Dr. Pepper at 10 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm. Dr. Pepper even had the numbers 10, 2, and 4 on the logo.
