Job Description: 

Are you passionate about sports and looking to hone your writing skills? GSMC Sports Network, a leader in sports media, is offering a Remote Sportswriter Internship. This is a unique opportunity to contribute daily articles to our website, YouTube channel, and social media platforms, reaching a broad and engaged audience. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in sports journalism, enhance your writing portfolio, and receive college credit. While this is an unpaid internship, it provides valuable experience that could lead to future opportunities in sports media. 

Responsibilities: 

• Daily Production Meetings: Attend daily production meetings at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern Time with Production Manager, Podcast Show Hosts, Sports Writers and the Social Media Team to discuss the top sports topics of the day and align content strategies. 

• Daily Article Writing: Write and submit daily sports articles covering a wide range of topics including game summaries, player profiles, and sports news. 

• Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough research on current sports trends, statistics, and history to create well-informed and engaging content. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with editors and content managers to ensure articles meet editorial standards and are published on time. 

• Multimedia Integration: Collaborate with the video production team to create content that complements your articles for our YouTube channel and social media. 

• Social Media Engagement: Promote your articles across our social media platforms, interacting with readers and responding to comments to increase engagement. 

• SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices in your writing to increase visibility and drive traffic to your articles. 

Requirements: 

• Passion for Sports: A deep interest in sports, with a strong knowledge of various sports and leagues. 

• Strong Writing Skills: Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content. 

• Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research to support your writing with accurate and relevant information. 

• Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and meet daily deadlines. 

• Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with Google Drive, WordPress, or other content management systems, and basic knowledge of SEO. 

• Social Media Proficiency: Experience using social media platforms to share content and engage with an audience. 

• Pursuing College Credit: Must be a current college student eligible to receive credit for this internship. 

Additional Information: 

• Location: This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere. 

• Time Commitment: Flexible hours with an expectation of producing one article daily. 

• College Credit: This is an unpaid internship designed for college credit. Please check with your academic advisor to ensure this internship meets your school’s requirements for credit.
