GSMC CLASSICS: THE SAINT

GOLDEN STATE MEDIA CONCEPTS CLASSICS: THE SAINT

GSMC Classics: The Saint was a drama/detective radio show first heard on CBS in 1947. It features the story of Simon Templar, otherwise known as “The Saint,” a detective who considers detection a form of art. The first choice to play The Saint was Tom Conway, but he declined, and the role went to the legendary Vincent Price. Also starred in the show was Lawrence Dobkin, who took the role of the cab driver who gets The Saint across the city. The old time radio show lasted until 1951. Vincent Price, as The Saint, would rather toss off a witty remark than engage in fisticuffs, but his suave charm nets as many pretty girls as any hardboiled dick.
