The Lone Ranger is an American radio show created by George W. Trendle and developed by writer Fran Striker. The character is a masked Texas Ranger in the American Old West, originally played by Paul Halliwell, who gallops about righting injustices with the aid of his Indian sidekick, Tonto. The series went nation-wide on the Mutual Broadcasting System, and it moved to the Blue Network (which would become ABC) on May 2, 1942.
