GOLDEN STATE MEDIA CONCEPTS CLASSICS: PEOPLE ARE FUNNY

People Are Funny is an American popular game radio show, first aired on April on April 10, 1942 on NBC. Created by John Guedel, the show became a Friday night staple throughout the 1940s and contestants were asked to carry out stunts in order to prove that “People Are Funny”. Many of these stunts lasted weeks, months, or even years. But contestants who were successful received prizes. The program rarely had celebrities, focusing instead on everyday people.
