MGM Theater of the Air was broadcast from 1949 to 1952 on WMGM in New York City and was a series of mostly dramatic plays performed for the radio. Hosted by Howard Dietz, Vice-President of MGM, the plays could be about comedy or romance, there were always dramatic undertones to stories. The productions for the MGM radio series were based on past MGM films.
